On Sunday, January 6, 2019, the Solemnity of the Epiphany of Our Lord, Sacred Heart parish received a priceless gift.
The presented to Rev. James Brown, pastor, by Fr. Gerald Greaves, our retired priest in residence, at 12:15 mass.
The gift was that of a First Class relic enclosed in a Papal Reliquary of St. Pope John Paul II “The Great”.
Fr. Gerald received the gift from His Eminence, Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz of Krakow, Poland on Friday, December 7, 2018.
For over 40 years, Cardinal Dziwisz served as the personal secretary to Pope John Paul II and was one of the saint's closest friends and advisors.
The ceremonial presentation took place near the end of the mass before concluding with Benediction and Adoration as is the custom for the First Sunday of each month at Sacred Heart Church.
As we begin our process of renovating the physical and spiritual foundations of our church, this opportunity to welcome and ask for the intercession of St. Pope John Paul II
is an important opportunity for our community. We hope you will join us.
